Home Sweet Home

I arrived in San Jose last night and have been hanging out at my parents' house. I was starving when I landed and promptly scoured the kitchen for food. My mom had made spring rolls per my request. Home cooking is the best!

These are filled with shrimp, pork, rice noodles, Chinese chives, lettuce and eaten with peanut dipping sauce. Delicious. :)

I am always amazed by how much Costco size food products my parents stock the house with, given that it is just them and my sister living here.

Who needs 44 oz. of Utz Pub Mix? Notice that it's "New Larger Size." I guess consumers were writing in complaining that they just weren't getting enough Pub Mix.

Economy size Easy Mac! My sister does like Easy Mac, but she doesn't need 18 servings of it! Apparently, my parents thinks she does. Easy Mac really is the perfect drunk snack at 3am... ready in 3 1/2 minutes! I am not ashamed to admit I love Easy Mac any time, particularly with a piece of really crispy toast. And in the middle of winter, I will probably eat this for dinner. Not really gourmet or sophisticated of me, but all my culinary training cannot undo my love for instant comfort food. It's a guilty pleasure. :)
