Keste Pizzeria

Per a friend's recommendation, I tried Keste in the West Village over the weekend. O.M.G. It was freakishly good pizza. I'm a pizza lover. I love any and almost all kinds of pizza, thin crust, deep dish, froze, 99 cent. Really any kind. I suppose that doesn't really help my credibility as a pizza expert but I have to say this was one of the most delicious pizzas I have eaten in recent memory. The pizza cooks in very short time and comes out almost under cooked. The crust is soft and chewy with lots of grilled flavor. The pizza itself is soft and moist. I started out using a knife and fork but became impatient because it took too long. I didn't really care how sloppy I was by that point!

pizza del re: this had fresh mozzarella, mushroom,  prosciutto di parma, truffle spread and extra virgin olive oil. the truffle spread really turns this pizza from just good to out of this world

salsiccia: this had tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, italian suasage, basil and extra virgin olive oil. this sounds like it would be amazing but was not as good as the pizza del re!
I'm salvating just thinking about these pizzas. I want more. Right now!

  1. Not as good the second time around. Still very good, but I think expectations got set a little too high!
