Dolores Park

I had a San Francisco first this weekend--I spent the afternoon at Dolores Park. I must say it's not my type of scene but it proved to be a highly entertaining few hours. From the human slip and slide to a a rowdy game of hipster bingo, I was transported to a whole new side of the city I've never experienced before. It was so relaxing I was tempted to try the "special" cookies but opted for some not so special cookies instead. Despite the dozens of restaurants nearby, I was pretty lazy to walk out and grab lunch. Instead, I opted for the co-op cart on premise, Chaac-Mool. The cart is run by La Cocina, a organization that helps small business owners, particularly minorities. I was happy to support the co-op and the food was pretty good as well!

I don't think Dolores Park will be my regular stomping ground but on a nice day, it's a great way to spend a few hours.
